Samsung SDS to support Sovico Group’s digital shift

Samsung SDS will work in partnership with Vietnam’s Sovico Group to support the company’s digital transformation.

Under an agreement signed last week, the two companies will collaborate in combining digital software with logistics, smart city technology and customer membership services, Samsung SDS said Monday. A particular field of focus in the partnership is logistics - where Samsung added the two will work together to spot new business opportunities.

Established in 1992, Hanoi-based Soviet is the parent company of Vietnam’s largest private air carrier Vietjet and many other subsidiaries in finance, retail, real estate and energy.

Having started out as an IT solution and software provider for Samsung Group affiliates, the company is pushing for business expansion outside the conglomerate. Last July, it acquired a 25 percent stake in CMC, Vietnam’s second-largest IT company, under an initiative to expand in Southeast Asia.
