‘Idol’ video hits 600 million views

The music video for BTS’s song “Idol” reached 600 million YouTube views on Sunday, becoming the band’s sixth video to accomplish the feat.

The music video for “Idol,” the lead track of BTS’s repackaged album “Love Yourself: Answer” was released in 2018.

The music video, which was named Music Video of 2018 at the E! People’s Choice Awards, has an impressive color palette and reimagined images featuring elements of traditional Korean culture.

BTS now has six music videos that have reached 600 million views, with the others being “MIC Drop,” “DNA,” “Fire,” “Fake Love” and “Boy With Luv,” a milestone that no other K-pop artist has achieved.

“DNA,” meanwhile, is the most-viewed of the septet’s music videos, hitting 900 million YouTube views last week.

BTS is currently preparing to release their new album titled “Map of the Soul: 7” on Feb. 21.
