NCT Dream tops Japanese chart

Boy band NCT Dream topped Japan’s Oricon charts with its first Japanese EP, its agency SM Entertainment said on Thursday.

According to the agency, the band’s latest Japanese release “The Dream,” released on Wednesday in celebration of the band’s first Japan tour, topped the Oricon daily album chart immediately after it came out.

The EP includes a Japanese version of the band’s debut song “Chewing Gum” as well as other hits such as “My First and Last,” “We Young” and “Boom.”

NCT Dream kicks off its first Japan tour this weekend with concerts at the Tokyo International Forum on Sunday and at the Tokyo NHK Hall on Monday.

It will be followed by concerts at the Kobe International House on Feb. 2 and 3 and finish off at the Tokyo Musashino Forest Sport Plaza with concerts from March 13 to 15.

NCT Dream topped iTunes charts in 27 regions around the world with its third EP “We Boom” released in July last year.
