Since 2001, Park’s donations have been made through the Mirae Asset Park Hyeon Joo Foundation, which focuses on supporting Korean students in Korea and overseas, as well as running social welfare programs. The foundation was founded in 2000, with Park contributing 7.5 billion won.

The foundation selects 700 Korean students every year who are studying abroad to fund their education and living expenses. Since 2007, when the scholarship program began, the foundation has supported 5,817 students in 50 countries. It funded nearly 3,500 promising students in Korea as well. Its social welfare program includes a cultural experience program, where the foundation funds overseas trips for Korean students.
