Foreigners Eligible for National Health Insurance

Foreigners who have resided in Korea for more than one year will be able to receive national medical insurance beginning this year.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare on January 3 announced that it changed its health act to induce more outside investment along with more skilled and knowledgeable workers whose family members will also be eligible for medical coverage.
Foreigners who are here for the purpose of religion, journalism, business, teaching, conducting training or seminars and artistic endeavors, including spouses and dependents under the age of 20 can receive medical care under the national health insurance.
