Expert Job Market Wide Open

The current professional qualification affirmation system, which has favored government officials, will be amended from 2001.
Even the general public can apply to positions such as tax accountant, while officials lose priority.
The government on April 13 announced that there will be no limitation in recruiting professional applicants. Additionally it will not adjust the demand and supply of professionals, letting 'the invisible hand' control the job market.
The open door sectors include lawyers, accountants, tariff officers, architects and judicial secretaries.
Many officials are retiring early en mass from their positions to receive preferential treatment before the new regulation passes in the National Assembly.
Chung Kang Jong from the national administration adjustment office said, 'Ordinary people had been in difficulty to advance those positions so far due to personnel limits and the officials' monopoly, so we decided to open the gate to them in free competition basis. People will also receive better administrative services from now on too.'
