Credit Card Taxies Increase

Call-taxies with credit card system expands.
'KM Call',the taxi call connecting service company announced on April 13 that it will adopt the credit card paying system by attaching a card processor to 350 its membership call-taxies from April 20.
The credit card system from call-taxi was introduced in 1997. However only about 30 out of 3,900 call-taxies in Seoul attached the card cashier due to it's high price(500,000-2 million won) and difficulty in confirming the credit information of customers.
But Anam Telecom,a wireless telecommunication company,recently developed a cheaper(300,000 won) card cashier that will make it possible to confim credit information.
The 1.5 percent commission on a credit card is allotted to taxi-owners.
Kim Dae Kun,the transportation and distribution manager of Seoul city said,'We will expand card paying system to individual taxis, after testing the efficiency of this system in the first half of this year.'
