Overseas Korean Protection Center
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade announced on March 9 its intention to establish an overseas Korean Protection Center.The Ministry's comes on the heels of the recent spate of kidnappings of Korean nationals.
The Center will begin operations on March 10. The duties of the center will include storage of all cases reported, contact with overseas organizations and diplomatic offices, and the promotion of safety for Korean tourists. The Center will also be responsible for providing information on the dangers of individual countries.
