Group says Korea tops in political freedoms

A U.S. human rights group said in its annual report that South Korea has one of the highest levels of political freedom as well as overall freedom - of movement, jobs, and so on, in the world.
By contrast, the report released by Freedom House dubbed North Korea’s political freedom and the freedom of individual citizens as the lowest in the world.
The report was based, the group said, on an analysis of incidents involving human rights in 192 countries during the past year.
North Korean human rights issues have been drawn into the spotlight in Seoul recently, much to the discomfort of the South Korean government.
Seoul wants to keep relations with the North on an even keel, but a U.S. human rights envoy asked the government to take a stronger stance on human rights abuses in the North.
