Teenagers prepare for Pepero Day by roasting rice cakes yesterday at Mount Namsan in central Seoul. Pepero Day, named for a snack that resembles long, chocolate covered pretzel sticks, falls on Nov. 11 because the date, 11/11, looks like four Pepero sticks. On that day, students give the snack to their friends and teachers. This year, officials are encouraging children to eat rice instead of the snacks. [YONHAP]
