2010 Chairman W

Ssangyong Motor, which has had a bad year with the breakup of its shareholders and a strike that lasted 77 days, has new hopes of survival with the release of its new luxury vehicle, the 2010 Chairman W.

The new vehicle is the company’s first release in 14 months and is the first luxury sedan in Korea to apply a four-wheel drive system, which is common in high-end vehicles in Europe.

It has an electronic air suspension system and a rebound coil that helps reduce noise and vibration, as well as an expanded rear passenger space. It will sell for between 52.1 million ($44,371) and 89.1 million won. The limousine version of the vehicle will sell for up to 129 million won.

“The 2010 Chairman W contains Ssangyong Motor’s employees’ desire for a revival,” said Park Young-tae, the court-appointed manager of the firm.
