Seoul Metropolitan Government officials at City Hall’s Seosomun Annex yesterday verify the signatures of 810,000 petitioners who requested a referendum on the controversial free school meal program. About 200 officials were deployed to verify the 810,000 signatures by Friday to check for duplicates, minors, nonresidents and ineligible voters. The referendum will be placed on the ballot if the number of verified signatures passes 410,800. By Kim Do-hun
