Choi Phillip rages on Twitter

Actor Choi Phillip of KBS drama “Heaven’s Order” has been embroiled in criticism due to a message he posted Tuesday supporting the celebrity soldiers that were spotted outside a military base at an adult establishment.

“What is ‘Indepth 21?’ Is it a group of crazy people? What do they want from digging into private lives? Crazy bastards!” he said on Twitter after the SBS program “Indepth 21” reported on the lives of entertainment soldiers. Most are widely popular celebrities who gained fame before entering the military to serve mandatory terms.

The controversial program aired on Tuesday.

After his comments drew fire, Choi deleted them. Some cannot understand how Choi, who served in the Navy, has expressed support for entertainment soldiers, who mostly sing and dance. Serving in the Navy is considered more difficult that standard military service.

Choi’s agency explained to local media that the actor did not watch the show and made a premature judgment.

It added that Choi deleted his comments after learning more about the investigation and apologized for his hasty reaction.
