Another show looks to older stars

More broadcasters are turning to grandparents for their entertainment shows following the huge success of cable channel tvN’s “Grandpa Over Flowers” earlier this year.

First came KBS, which featured four veteran actresses as they traveled in “Mamado.” And now, another cable channel, TV Chosun, has decided to launch a show that features both grandfathers and grandmothers.

Tentatively titled “Yes Yes,” Chosun’s program will show veteran entertainers bringing their grandchildren to the countryside all across Korea on two-day trips.

“Yes Yes” is scheduled to start its run early next month, even though its cast has yet to be nailed down.

“Many veteran celebrities are welcoming the arrival of the show as they always felt they lacked time to spend with their grandchildren due to their busy schedules,” said a member of the show’s production team.

“Through these special trips, the program will show how the different generations can understand each other and build tighter relationships.”
