Plans for ‘Respond, 1994’ sequel under way

Cable channel tvN announced its plan to air “Respond, 1994,” a sequel to its previous hit drama “Respond, 1997.”

After the drama, which depicts stories of teenagers cheering for older idol groups like H.O.T., garnered wide popularity, the channel decided to produce another show.

A poster released yesterday showed that cast members will come from different regions of Korea to Seoul, demonstrating the popular trend of people coming from the countryside to become celebrities at the time.

“The stories about people moving to Seoul are full of unpredictable incidents,” said Shin Won-ho, producer for the program, according to local media reports. “Please raise your hopes for watching the stories, which were rarely [spoken], in the drama.”
