Producer makes a cameo

Producer Na Young-suk, well-known for directing the KBS show “1 Night 2 Days” and more recently tvN’s “Grandpas Over Flowers,” will make his debut as an actor, making a cameo appearance in “Respond, 1994,” a new drama on tvN.

“Respond, 1994” is a follow-up to “Respond, 1997,” about high school students from the early days of K-pop, when groups like H.O.T. and Sechs Kies had just arrived to shake up the entertainment scene.

For the second series, the show will focus on students who came to Seoul from all across Korea for university. It takes place three years before the first series.

Na will appear in the first episode, which starts on Oct. 18, playing one of those young collegians. The production team reportedly said that Na was offered a role in the first series as well, but he turned down the offer.
