Ye.A to feature footballer’s daughter

Hwang Hyun-jin, the daughter of Pohang Steelers General Manager Hwang Sun-hong, will make her debut later this month as a member of the girl group Ye.A.

Kiroy Y Group released a photograph yesterday of Hwang, who will be using the stage name Yigyeo - which means “win” in Korean - at the same time that it released the cover photo for the girls’ upcoming album. The eight-member group will unveil its first record on July 18.

Hwang first made headlines in February when she announced her plans to make her debut in the music industry. Local media reported at the time that she is fluent in English and Japanese in addition to being a talented singer and dancer. Ye.A was formed and is directed by Yang Jeong-seung, who has produced hit songs for a number of artists, including Ivy and Jo Sung-mo.
