Girl’s Day’s Hyeri nabs role in ‘Hyde’

Hyeri, a member of Girl’s Day, has landed a supporting role in the upcoming rom-com drama “Hyde, Jekyll and Me,” according to her agency Dream Tea Entertainment.

In the series, the 20-year-old singer will play the role of a woman who has a crush on Ku Seo-jin, the owner of a theme park called Wonder Land.

Ku, played by actor Hyun Bin, has fame and fortune but distances himself from society after dealing with a tragic accident.

Hyun will pair up with actress Han Ji-min, who will play Jang Ha-na, a leader of a circus group working for Wonder Land. The two confront each other when Ku attempts to scrap the circus show.

The drama series will start airing in January. It is an adaptation of a popular web cartoon series of the same name.

The new drama series will be directed by Cho Young-kwang from “Queen of Ambition” (2013) and written by Kim Ji-wun from “Cheongdam-dong Alice” (2013).

Hyeri, who is new to acting, landed her second drama after she was cast in “Seonam Girls High School Investigators,” which is currently airing on JTBC.

In the mystery-themed drama, which centers on five amateur detectives of high school age, the Girl’s Day star plays Lee Ye-hee, a character who is obsessed with her looks.
