Mobile voting closes for Golden Discs

Mobile voting for the 2015 Golden Disc Awards came to an end on Sunday, three days before the event takes place.

The early voting opened on Dec. 10 and has been conducted for a month so that fans could choose their favorite acts for three different awards - new singer of the year, album of the year and digital single of the year.

The votes were made through the official smartphone app of the Golden Disc Awards.

In the album of the year category, Shinee members outperformed other K-pop singers.

Taemin, a member of Shinee who released his solo album in August, topped the list as the most popular artist who released an album last year.

Key, another member of the group who formed a male duo act along with Woohyun of Infinite, ranked second.

Beast, pictured below, was selected as the most popular artist in the digital single of the year category, while newbie group Got7 ranked first in the new singer of the year category.

The online voting will be reflected when selecting final winners for three main awards at the 2015 Golden Disc Awards, which will be held Wednesday and Thursday in Beijing, China.

The Golden Disc Awards are one of the nation’s longest-running awards shows.
