Girl group Tiny-G breaks up

Girl group Tiny-G has disbanded, according to its agency GNG Production.

The agency of the three-member girl group told Yonhap News on Tuesday, “The group released a couple of albums since 2012, but all of the albums failed to impress K-pop fans.

“Do Hee will keep pursuing her acting career while two other members, Mint and J. Min, will keep working as singers in Thailand,” an official from the agency said.

A local news agency reported Tuesday morning that the main reason the group disbanded was because Do Hee refused to perform as part of the girl group after she earned fame and popularity with popular cable TV drama “Reply, 1994,” which aired in 2013.

In response to the report on Do Hee’s refusal to continue working with the group, the agency official said, “It costs millions of won to produce a single album. It’s not Do Hee’s choice to put a halt to Tiny-G. I feel sorry that some reports are blaming Do Hee for the breakup of the group.”

Tiny-G debuted in 2012, but none of its albums were major hits. However, the girl group gained a few fans after Do Hee began appearing on TV.
