‘Infinite’ picks a new member

Hwang Kwang-hee, a member of the boy group ZE: A, has been selected as the winner of the “Six Men Project,” a competition held to find an extra member for the popular reality show “Infinite Challenge.”

Hwang is filling the empty place left by Noh Hong-chul, who was caught driving under the influence of alcohol in November.

Choi Si-won, a member of the boy group Super Junior; Hong Jin-kyung, a TV celebrity; Kang Kyun-sung, a singer; Jang Dong-min, a comedian; and Hwang Kwang-hee, a singer, were the final candidates for the “Six Men Project.”

Although Jang was perceived as the strongest candidate to become the next member of “Infinite Challenge,” he voluntarily withdrew from the running after sexist comments he made while recording the podcast “Onggura” last August resurfaced last week and raised a furor.

In order to maintain secrecy, not even the current members of “Infinite Challenge” knew the result of the contest until the program aired on Saturday.

Hwang was chosen through a vote by the five members of “Infinite Challenge.” He received three votes out of three.
