Sulli rumored to be leaving f(x)

Singer-actor Sulli has been engulfed by the controversy regarding withdrawing from the girl band f(x). Several Korean media outlets such as Ilgan Sports reported Thursday that the celebrity is preparing to leave the band to focus on her acting career.

The report cited a person involved with music industry, who said, “Sulli is getting ready to leave the group. Even though she is leaving f(x), she will remain in her current agency, considering the fact that her contract with the agency has not expired yet.”

In response to such reports, however, SM Entertainment made an official statement on the same day, denying that Sulli is leaving the band.

“Nothing has been confirmed yet. Whether Sulli will carry on with her band activities or not is an issue that will be carefully decided.”

The 21-year-old first made her public appearance through the drama series “Ballad of Seo Dong” in 2005. Since then, she has appeared in a number of TV programs as well as in several movies, mostly in supporting roles. She made her official debut as a singer in 2009 as a member of f(x).
