Kotra’s latest job fair brings youth-approved companies

Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (Kotra) will host its “Job Fair for Foreign-Invested Companies 2015” from Oct. 15 - 16 at Coex in southern Seoul, with aims at boosting youth employment.

Global companies like Facebook, P&G, 3M, BASF, Costco and 98 others will join the event to give detailed information and consultations to youths looking for a job.

Facebook, the first to participate in the job fair, is planning on actually recruiting young people at the event to work at its Korea and Singapore offices.

Fifty five percent of participating companies are interested in natural science and engineering majors, while 33 percent indicated a preference for youths from provincial areas, according to preliminary survey data complied by Kotra.

When asked about companies’ preferred talents, 25 percent answered “a strong will to accomplish common goals,” while 24 percent answered “a global mindset.” Meanwhile, 38 percent chose “field experience” and 29 percent said “linguistic abilities.”

More information on participating companies and application for the event is at the official homepage (www.jobfairfic.org) or (http://kotrajobfair.or.kr).
