YONGIN, Gyeonggi - Two pandas from China are finally ready to meet with local fans next week at Everland. If lucky, visitors will get to see the pandas gorging on bamboo leaves on top of a wooden structure, climbing to the end of a branch that almost looks too thin to support their weight - about 100 kilograms (220 pounds) - and even pooping.

They will roam around their habitat in Panda World at Everland, take a nap on an ice stone, and do all the cute things people might have imagined before or expected pandas to do from the “Kung Fu Panda” movie series. Of course you won’t notice how fast time flies while watching the pandas, but the journey to the real pandas won’t be a easy one with a long line of people waiting to see them in action.

Although there will most likely be a line to wait in, you might not get too bored. The amusement park has employed a variety of electronic devices to recreate pandas on screen, before guests reach the real animals.

In the waiting area outside, there are touchscreens which will give you more information about the place the pandas are currently living in.

Once inside Panda World, guests will be welcomed in a round room which is surrounded with 36 65-inch TVs. Animations of panda characters dancing and riding a roller coaster are played across the screens.

More integrative experience devices also await, which will be informative to learn about pandas’ traits, especially for children. Tablet PCs are connected to larger monitors so that visitors can play games on panda while learning more about their natural habitats. Other tablet PCs provide information on eating habits of the black-and-white animals and even show how the animal species is endangered and needs protection. Of course currently popular virtual reality devices will be available so that visitors can wear it and see pandas moving.

Don’t get too disappointed even when you don’t get to see the real pandas in action. They tend to move less when it gets warmer - even now they spend good amount of time napping on top of a man-made ice stone. Pandas also get scared by loud noises.

The amusement park also plans to show a musical whose main characters are pandas later this month.
