SM Entertainment to open Smtown Museum

SM Entertainment, South Korea’s leading music label-entertainment agency, said Wednesday it will open the country’s first K-pop museum, featuring the history of its artists, in Seoul later this week.

“The Smtown Museum will open at Smtown Coex Artium in southern Seoul on Friday,” the agency said.

The museum consists of nine exhibits, including The SM Archive showcasing the albums, videos and photo books of SM artists and The Smtown Live Beyond Story featuring the best performances from their live concerts, the agency said.

Visitors will also be able to take photos and film videos with SM artists through augmented reality, according to the agency.

“We hope Smtown Museum will be a major attraction for K-pop fans as the country’s first K-pop space to combine entertainment, exhibitions, technology and experience,” the agency said.
