Portuguese incubator seeks Korean start-ups

The Portuguese Embassy in Seoul is inviting Korean start-ups to apply to the country’s incubator program.

“Building Global Innovators is a world-class tech startups accelerator, based jointly in Lisbon, with operations in Cambridge, Massachusetts,” the embassy said in a statement jointly released with Aicep Portugal Global, a government agency tasked with attracting foreign investment to Portugal, on Tuesday.

The program, now in its ninth year, is looking for start-ups working in IT, medical devices, smart cities, blockchain, artificial intelligence and water resources.

Successful applicants will receive a “personal weekly mentorship program for six months with industry experts” and “access to global network of investors.”

Start-ups with less than five years of experience in “need of considerable human and financial resources to achieve full commercialization” are welcome to apply through June 15.
