Game developer Bluehole acquires Delusion Studio

Bluehole, a local game developer best known for the blockbuster hit Battlegrounds said on Thursday it will acquire Delusion Studio, a smaller local mobile game developer.

Delusion Studio has developed mobile games such as Castle Burn and Guardian Stone. The former is a strategic simulation title has been top-ranked in the strategy game category on Google Play ever since its release in November.

Terms of the deal are unknown.

Meanwhile, Tencent is reportedly in negotiation to acquire a 10 percent stake in Bluehole for around 540 billion won. Should the deal materialize, the Chinese IT giant will become a second-largest shareholder of Bluehole after Chang Byung-gyu, chairman and co-founder.
