Veteran pansori (traditional Korean narrative singing) singers Kim Il-gu left, and Kim Chung-man, right, perform at the opening ceremony of the Festival of Korean Intangible Cultural Heritage this year. This year’s festival will start in Sept. 13 to Sept. 30 and will be held in Jeonju, North Jeolla, to celebrate traditional craftsmen who work to uphold traditional Korean culture. The festival’s theme is traditional crafts, and 99 craftsmen will exhibit their works for viewers to view and experience. Festival participants will be able to make their own pottery, traditional knives, seals and more using the same tools that craftsmen use.
