Doosan Heavy inks deal with Dell EMC

Doosan Heavy Industries and Construction inked a partnership with Dell EMC, a data storage systems maker, to digitize its business operations, the Korean company said Wednesday.

The two will team up to combine Doosan’s expertise in designing, building and operating power plants and water treatment facilities using Dell EMC’s hardware that enables digital solutions to be implemented at actual plants.

Their first project will be modernizing Doosan’s power plant in India to improve the plants’ generating efficiency and reduce pollutant emissions. While Doosan has already developed software to optimize power plant operations based on a partnership it inked with SAP in June, the solution will be mounted on Dell EMC devices to be installed at the plant, according to a Doosan spokesperson.

Device installation will be completed within this month.
