: The famed Croatian pianist Maksim Mrvica is returning to Korea for the first time in two years. Since 2004, the prominent pianist has performed in Korea multiple times. The highlight of this show will be the songs from his ninth album, which was released on June 1.

The concert starts at 5 p.m.

Ticket prices range from 77,000 to 132,000 won ($68 to $117).

PLACIDO DOMINGO CONCERT IN SEOUL

: World-renowned tenor Placido Domingo has performed at the world’s most famous opera houses, including the Royal Opera House in London, the New York Metropolitan Opera, Vienna State Opera, London’s Royal Opera House, La Scala in Milan and the Opera Bastille in Paris. This fall, he will perform in Korea for the first time in two years. The singer has a diverse program planned his seventh local performance.

The concert starts at 8 p.m.

Ticket prices range from 55,000 to 550,000 won.

: Set in 1960s America, this musical tells the heartwarming story of lovers at a paradise resort. Marge, whose fiance never showed up to their wedding, goes to the resort where was she was supposed to honeymoon with her best friend Lois. Feeling sorry for her friend, Lois tries to connect the singer Del with Marge. Meanwhile, Gabe, an employee at the resort, falls for Lois and writes a song for her. Realizing that Gabe’s talent is being overshadowed by Del’s presence, she promises to stand by him if he sings on stage.

The musical starts at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturdays; and 3 p.m. on Sundays. There are no performances on Mondays.

Ticket prices range from 60,000 to 13,000 won.

: This show features extravagant lighting, entertaining clowns, brilliant costumes and exciting acrobatic performances.

The show starts at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; 3:30 pm. and 7 p.m. on Saturdays; and 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Sundays.

Ticket prices range from 70,000 to 260,000 won.

BORDER TALES BY PROTEIN DANCE

Sogang University, Mary Hall

Oct. 4-5
: As part of this year’s Seoul International Dance Festival, various dance groups from across the globe will be presenting their works under the theme, “Refugee.” One of them includes “Border Tales” by Protein Dance, featuring people of diverse backgrounds dancing on one stage. Italian choreographer Luca Silverstrini leads the company and attempts to “preserve the stories and tensions derived from borders experienced by international dancers.” The performance had a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It starts at 8 p.m. on both days.

Tickets range from 20,000 won to 50,000 won.

SEOUL FOREST JAZZ FESTIVAL

Seoul Forest

Oct. 6-7
: The Seoul Forest Jazz Festival is a jazz festival that takes place in a famous park located in the heart of Seoul.

In the beginning of autumn, visitors can admire the natural scenery while enjoying live jazz by talented artists from Korea and abroad.

The lineup for Saturday consists of famed singer-songwriter Sunwoo Jung-A, trumpet player Peter Evans, and the Lee Sunjae Trio. The lineup for Sunday has the Junggigo Quintet, the jazz trumpet Joep Van Rhijn Trio and pop singer Park Ji-yoon.

The festival starts at 2 p.m. on both days.

Ticket prices range from 55,000 to 88,000 won.

FUERZA BRUTA WAYRA

To Oct. 7
: This dynamic theater experience, directed by famed Argentinian artistic director Diqui James, features performers flying freely in three dimensional spaces.

The performance starts at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays; 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturdays; and 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Sundays and national holidays. There are no shows on Mondays.

Ticket prices range from 99,000 to 132,000 won.
