BTS confirmed for 2018 AAAs

Superstar band BTS will attend the upcoming 2018 Asia Artist Awards (AAAs) in Namdong Gymnasium, Incheon, on Nov. 28.

The 2018 Asia Artist Awards is an annual awards ceremony hosted by media news outlet Star News that honors K-pop acts and artists based on their popularity worldwide. This year, 20 actors, including Lee Byung-hun and 20 K-pop acts, including Wanna One, Twice, iKON and Seventeen are participating.

Last year, boy band Exo won the Grand Prize for music.

BTS’ attendance this year comes as no surprise, considering their remarkable success abroad.

On Sept. 24, BTS became the first K-pop group to deliver a speech at the United Nations General Assembly for Unicef’s “Generation Unlimited,” a youth empowerment program. Leader of the group Kim Nam-jun, also known as RM, spoke for the group, encouraging young people to believe in themselves.

BTS is currently in the United States on a world tour and will be traveling to seven countries until February. The group recently appeared on popular U.S. TV shows including the Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Good Morning America and America’s Got Talent.
