Super Junior releases Latin album

Boy band Super Junior has returned with a special new album “One More Time” on Monday.

The album is the group’s first Latin-pop album and features five K-pop songs with a Latin vibe. Its lead track “One More Time (Otra Vez),” featuring Mexican group Reik, is a Latin pop song with a Reggaeton rhythm, which is a popular Latin American hip-hop genre.

The new EP is also the first album featuring member Ryeowook since his release from mandatary military service.

The album’s release was followed by a concert held at the MGM Cotai Theater in Macau. The concert was aired live through SM Town’s channel on Naver’s V LIVE, a live video streaming service.

The release of the song “Lo Siento” from the album “Replay” last November featuring singer-songwriter Leslie Grace was the group’s first step toward their Latin American ambitions. It was the first K-pop song to make Billboard’s Latin Digital Song Sales chart, debuting at No. 13.

In April, Super Junior kicked off a Latin American tour, visiting four nations: Argentina, Peru, Chile and Mexico.

On Sept. 27, the group pre-released the track “Animals” from the new EP “One More Time,” immediately topping the iTunes singles charts in 17 countries.

This year marks the 14th anniversary of Super Junior’s debut as a boy band.
