Suit filed against Cho Jae-hyun

A woman who said she was sexually assaulted by actor Cho Jae-hyun when she was 17 is said to have filed a lawsuit in July.

In the lawsuit, the alleged victim requested compensation of more than 100 million won ($87,950), according to legal officials.

The victim claimed she has been suffering from psychological trauma ever since she was allegedly assaulted. Her reasons for delaying the filing of the lawsuit until July was not revealed.

Cho denied the claims through his lawyer Park Heon-ho. Cho has already settled with the victim, according to the lawyer.

The first sexual allegations against Cho were made by an actress last February. Cho resigned his post as a professor at Kyungsung University a few days after the accusation and was also removed from the drama “Cross.”

In June, a Korean-Japanese actress claimed that Cho sexually assaulted her 16 years ago in a bathroom, and since then, she has been suffering from the trauma of alleged rape.

More victims, mostly from the film industry, came out to accuse Cho on the MBC television program “PD Notebook,” but Cho denied all the accusations and filed a suit against the alleged victims and the producers of the program for defamation.
