Hanwha Q Cells to supply cells for London solar project

Oct 11,2018
Hanwha Q Cells is supplying cell modules for a 1.5 megawatt residential solar project in London in partnership with British solar developer Solarcentury, Hanwha said Wednesday.

The Solar Together London project, which launched in March, invites homeowners in five London boroughs - Brent, Ealing, Kingston, Merton and Sutton - to install rooftop solar arrays at a reduced cost by buying modules in bulk. The project is part of the Mayor of London’s ambitious plan to make the capital carbon neutral by 2050.

Hanwha is supplying Q.PEAK DUO-G5 solar modules. It is a half-cell module that offers high power yield even on narrow roofs, according to Hanwha. As half-cut cells generate half the current of a standard cell, resistive losses while interconnecting solar modules are reduced, the company said.
