Nugu to offer translations using Hancom’s GenieTalk
The GenieTalk language translation app will be added to SK Telecom’s smart speaker Nugu, SK Telecom said Wednesday.GenieTalk, developed by local software company Hancom and the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, was used as an official translator app during the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Games earlier this year. The app is capable of translating four languages: Korean, English, Chinese and Japanese.
Mobile carriers and tech companies are focusing on expanding partnerships with third companies to enhance smart speakers’ capabilities.
