Big Hit to debut boy band in 2019

The hottest entertainment agency in K-pop is getting ready to release what they hope is another big hit.

Big Hit Entertainment, home to the globally successful boy band BTS, will introduce a five-member boy group to the world next year.

The group’s name and the exact date of their debut is yet to be decided, but the agency has confirmed that there indeed will be a new act coming in 2019.

“We are preparing for them to make their debut by early next year,” said the agency.

BTS fans and industry insiders are curious as to how the agency will use the knowledge they’ve gained through the six years of success with BTS to promote the new group.

Last year the company, founded in 2005 by Bang Si-hyuk, saw its biggest success yet, after making 92.4 billion won ($81.78 million) in sales, 32.5 billion won in operating profit and 24.6 billion won in net profit.
