Some may find the taste of kongguksu, thin wheat-flour noodles in a cold soybean broth, underwhelming or just plain bland.
But the nutritious and protein-rich broth is a tonic to Koreans, especially in the summer, and this modest, 53-year-old establishment in downtown Seoul packs in office workers every day.
You can find a recommended noodle restaurant by searching Instagram using the hashtag #koreanoodletour. To find a restaurant near you, search also by the hashtag for the district in Seoul (i.e. #Jung-gu) or the Korean city (#Busan).
