Kim Heun-gook cleared of charges

Singer Kim Heung-gook has been cleared of accusations of sexual assault, according to his agency Cncmedia on Friday.

In March, a woman came forward and accused the singer of sexual assault. According to the woman, she was having dinner with the singer and other acquaintances at the time. Kim had allegedly been demanding her to drink more, and when she woke up after losing consciousness, she was bare naked. She also said that the singer threatened her to hurt her if she told anyone.

Kim immediately denied the accusations and said that there had been no sexual assault nor did her have sexual intercourse with the woman.

The woman filed a complaint to police for sexual assault and defamation in March, and Kim also filed a complaint for false accusation.

In May, the two were exempted from indictment due to a lack of evidence, and police handed over both cases to prosecutors.
