Pulmuone CEO gets award for labor relations practices

Pulmuone Foods CEO Park Nam-ju received a state honor from the Ministry of Employment and Labor on Wednesday for promoting relations between the company’s management and employees.

At a government ceremony held at ELTower, southern Seoul, the food company CEO was recognized with the silver honor medal, the second highest of the five medals awarded to industry leaders.

The ministry said at the ceremony that the CEO contributed to the development of industry by improving cooperation between management and the workforce.

According to Pulmuone, Park has been actively involved in the company’s “open committee,” a platform for management and employees to speak on work-environment issues.

Through the committee, the company introduced a policy of one-year maternity leave and birthday holiday without the approval of a superior. Pulmuone has also implemented a PC shutdown system at the end of the day to encourage employees to leave work on time.
