Signs of inflation continue with data from end of 2018

The prices of six out of 10 daily necessities in Seoul rose in December, reflecting the overall inflation level for the month, market data indicated.

The data from the Korea National Council of Consumer Organizations showed that the prices of 23 of 39 products sold at large supermarkets and other retailers in Seoul increased in the last month of 2018.

The average price of snacks rose from 1,007 won ($0.89) in November to 1,066 won in December, up 5.9 percent.

Boxes of tissues increased 2.4 percent month-on-month.
