CU partners with Yogiyo to bring dosirak to your door

Convenience store franchise CU is partnering with food delivery company Yogiyo to bring ready-made meals to customers’ doorsteps.

CU operator BGF Retail announced Thursday that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Delivery Hero Korea, which runs Yogiyo, to build the new delivery service. Yogiyo is Korea’s second largest food delivery service after Baedal Minjok and also has delivery networks abroad in countries like Australia and Germany.

CU’s new delivery service is slated to launch this March in major cities, including Seoul. It will later be offered in other parts of the country.

CU said it will initially offer deliveries of ready-made meals like sandwiches and dosirak, or lunch boxes with rice and side dishes.

“We hope [the delivery service] will offer customers distinctive customer service while also providing new revenue sources for franchisees,” said a spokesperson from BGF Retail.
