SHINee, 2AM singers set to enlist

Singers Minho and Key from boy band SHINee and Jeong Jin-woon from ballad group 2AM are ready to head off to the military.

Their respective agencies announced Thursday that the three will start serving their mandatory military services soon. Although the specific dates of enlistment have not been announced for Minho and Key, Jeong confirmed that he will join the army in March.

Jeong has recently been releasing solo albums and pursuing a career in acting. He applied to join the military band and is currently waiting for the result. Even if he does not get a position in the band, he will still enlist before he turns 28 in May. Postponing military enlistment is impossible after turning 28.

Minho and Key have also recently released solo work. Minho recently finished filming the movie “Jangsa-ri 9.15” and is soon heading to Tokyo, Bangkok and Taipei, Taiwan, for a fan meeting tour. Key released his first solo album “FACE” in November and his first Japanese album “Hologram” in December last year.
