Lee Su-jin’s latest invited to Berlin

Director Lee Su-jin’s film “Wusang,” starring actors Han Suk-kyu, Sol Kyung-gu and Chun Woo-hee, has been invited to the 69th Berlin International Film Festival.

The festival unveiled the final line-up of the films invited to the Panorama section of the festival Monday, including a total of 45 films from 38 countries. The noir film “Wusang,” which translates to “Idol,” tells the story of Gu Myeong-hoe (Han), who faces a life crisis after making an irrevocable mistake in his political career.

Director Lee’s film comes five years after “Han Gong-ju” (2013), which also featured Chun, and was invited to a number of international film festivals, including the 43rd NDU International Film Festival and the 63rd Melbourne International Film Festival in 2014.

This year’s Berlin International Film Festival is set to take place from Feb. 7 to 17. “Wusang” will be released in theaters sometime this year.
