Kang Daniel in dispute with agency

Following reports over the weekend that singer Kang Daniel may be separating with his agency LM Entertainment, Kang uploaded a post to his fan club’s website on Sunday night saying that he had sent the necessary paperwork to his agency requesting that it fix the terms of his contract or completely revoke the contract.

“I am in a dispute with LM Entertainment,” wrote Kang.

“It was difficult for me to think things through, after I saw so many vicious articles that were not true. But I was more worried about the fans who would have been hurt by the untruthful stories.”

According to earlier reports, Kang had sent paperwork to LM Entertainment on Feb. 1 to prove that they had not been treating him properly and demanded that they either change the terms of the contract or let him go.

Though the agency announced that it would release Kang’s solo album in April and hold a fan meeting tour in May, fans were upset that the agency failed to support him in other ways, such as running an online fan club or releasing videos of the singer.

Kang has not posted anything on social media accounts since Feb. 3.

On Monday afternoon, Kang made a new Instagram account, and accumulated around 37,000 followers within two hours.

“Hello. It’s been so long,” Kang wrote in a post that contained three photographs.

LM Entertainment had a different stance regarding the situation.

“We have a misunderstanding between the agency and the artist, but the paperwork we received is not for revoking Kang’s exclusive contract,” said the agency.

“We will do our best to come to a mutual understanding, after engaging in active communication.”
