Gapyeong opens 1st movie theater

Visitors to Gapyeong County in Gyeonggi will now be able to check out a movie in its local theater.

Officials of the county announced Wednesday that it will open its first multiplex theater named “1939 Cinema” tomorrow at the Gapyeong Music Village, which was constructed on top of the old Gapyeong Station. The station first opened its doors in 1939, hence the name of the theater.

The theater comes along with two screens - one with 90 seats and the other with 48. The first movie to be screened at the theater is “Money,” starring actors Ryu Jun-yeol and Yoo Ji-tae.

Tickets will cost 6,000 won ($5.30) for 2-D movies and 8,000 won for 3-D movies. They will be available for purchase through the Interpark website.
