Funeral for Cho Yang-ho starts at Severance today

The funeral service for late Hanjin Group Chairman Cho Yang-ho starts today at Severance Hospital in Sinchon, western Seoul, Korean Air announced Thursday.

The service for Cho - Korean Air chairman for nearly 20 years - will last five days through Tuesday.

Visitors will be welcomed starting 12 p.m. today.

The funeral has been organized by Hanjin Group with Suk Tae-soo, Hanjin Kal CEO, as director. Suk was a close confidante of Cho’s.

The company is also accepting those offering condolences at its offices in Gangseo District, western Seoul, and in Seosomun-dong, central Seoul.

Cho died from chronic pulmonary disease at a hospital in Los Angeles on Sunday. His body was returned to Korea this morning.
