Hyundai Motor unveiled the newest addition to its growing SUV lineup, the Venue, at the New York International Auto Show on Wednesday.

The new entry-level vehicle is the smallest of Hyundai’s SUVs, joining the Kona, Nexo, Tucson, Santa Fe and the Palisade as part of the automaker’s recent push to meet consumer demand.

Coming in at just 1.57 meters (5.15 feet) in height and 4.04 meters in length, the Venue is targeting younger drivers with a focus on design and technology.

Retaining Hyundai’s new design language of slim front headlamps and a large grille, the Venue is also equipped with square-shaped LED daytime running lights.

The vehicle also comes in two tones with the roof in a different color from the body.

“The design features are specifically tailored to millennial buyers who are looking for their first car,” said Lee Sang-yup, Hyundai Motor’s senior vice president, at the auto show on Wednesday.

“It is technology friendly […] a lot of millennials live in the city and the city lifestyle has to suit with this vehicle.”

The vehicle has an 8-inch infotainment display that can be mirrored with smartphones, according to Lee.

Hyundai also added a string of smart safety features to the vehicle such as forward collision-avoidance assist, lane keeping assist and blind spot collision warning.

Packing a small 1.6-liter engine, the vehicle is also targeting driving enthusiasts as it will be available with a six-speed manual transmission or a continuously-variable transmission.

The Venue follows Hyundai’s recent additions to its SUV offerings as sales in the sector in Korea continue to grow.

The Palisade has been the third best-selling passenger vehicle in Korea this year, just behind the Hyundai Santa Fe SUV, according to the Korea Automobiles Manufacturers Association (KAMA).
