Jo Sung-mo volunteers in Rwanda
Actor Jo Sung-mo visited Rwanda with World Vision, an international relief and development NGO that helps children living in poverty and sickness, the organization announced on Wednesday.
Jo visited the region from Feb. 3 to 10 to meet with local residents and children. It’s his second visit to Rwanda - he was last in the country two years ago.
During his visit, he spent time with children who cannot receive proper surgeries due to their small size, as well as kids who had to suspend their education for health and economic reasons.
“Rwanda is a place where the majority of the children remain unprotected from poverty and disease due to its former civil wars,” Yang Ho-seung, the CEO of World Vision said. “I sincerely hope that more people become interested in these children’s stories [through Jo] and reach out to help.”
Jo’s story about Rwanda will air on the MBC program “Good Neighbors” at 10:50 a.m. on Friday.
