Served with sauce on the side, this seafood jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) pulls out all the usual stops: sauteed onions that exude flavor without forgoing crunch, minced garlic, soft carrots and tender shrimp. Where the noodles might be a little lacking, the sauce steps in. Although it may not contain MSG, the use of soy sauce adds an abundance of flavor without watering down the viscous sauce that adheres satisfactorily to the chewy noodles.
Daehangak is known for its farm-to-table approach, growing many ingredients at its organic farm. The restaurant is spacious with high windows, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal on a bright summer’s day.
