Gaehwa’s jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) is one of the best in town, with its sauce possessing a perfectly seasoned, albeit not overly savory, classic soy flavor and a viscosity that adheres satisfactorily to the noodles. Although the noodles are not homemade, they are bouncy and not overly chewy - a good vehicle for the palatable showstopper.
A copious number of pork belly bits swim within the sauce, though the pork-to-onion ratio certainly plays in the former’s favor.
First-time diners should also try the fried mandu (dumplings).
